Our deepest fear
is not that we are
inadequate.

Our deepest fear
is that we are
powerful beyond measure.

It is our light,
not our darkness
that most frightens us.

Marianne Williamson

The Therapy

Everything you experience is stored in your body structure. Memories of negative experiences are stored with their accompanying emotions in the form of muscular tension. Often we are unconscious of the emotions, feelings and thoughts that are linked to our physical tension.

Chronic muscular tension affects how we deal with ourselves, with others and with the situations that daily confront us. It reduces our ability to act freely and spontaneously.

Body psychotherapy uses the body as a starting point to investigate how you act and react, where and how you restrict yourself and which thoughts, feelings and emotions lie behind your behaviour.

You can learn:

  • to be more aware of your body and of your feelings
  • to form closer and more fulfilling relationships
  • what you really want and what choices to make
  • what your personal strengths and qualities are
  • what your personal limitations are
  • what your limits are and how to get others to respect them
  • to recognise the situations that cause you stress and deal with them more effectively
